Purple Hibiscus
This week I have some pretty purple hibiscus tips.   The purple is from the new Sally Hansen Color Foil collection. This is Leaden Lilac.  I love foils. (it’s my 2nd favorite polish texture after holographic.) so I had to have the Sally Color Foils.  As with all foils, the color has no mercy, it shows all.  So every file mark, bump, line, etc in your nail shows.  So you have to be sure your nails are buffed smooth.  But the color is so pretty!
The hibiscus are stamped on.  Stamps BM318 and BM 313. I first used a white to stamp the design.  (This makes the color of the flower standout more.)  Then stamped over it with Summer Brights - Pastel Purple.
Then, I used Northern Lights as the top coat to add the sparkle.  I love the color combination of the shinny foil base with a flat pastel flower.  A nice pretty summer design.         View Larger

Legos
These are some fun Lego nails.  My son’s Bday party was a Lego theme so I did nails to match.  The Lego pieces are a color block.  To make the 2 dimension Lego peg look, I used grey polish which I dotted on with a dotting tool.  Then used a smaller dotting tool to dot the center of the grey dot with the original color.
colors:
Yellow: Funky Fingers - Alex’s Lemonade
Blue: Sinful Colors - Endless Blue
Red: China Glaze - Poinsettia
Green: Nubar - Hot Green
White: Nubar - White Tip
Grey for the pegs: Color Club - Who are you Wearing  View Larger

Lightning Nails

I am so behind on my postings!!  For April, I wanted an “April Showers” themed nail art so I decided to go with “Lightning Strike Nails”. I first did the design on my nail wheel to get a feel for what I wanted to do.  That ended up being the pics I used for the tutorial above.  When I actually did the design on my nails, I went with yellow lightning instead.  I’m still torn as to which I like better, but I think I’m leaning toward the white.

This is basically a sponge nail art just like the galaxy nails except adding lightning.   The tutorial above shows the steps. It’s pretty easy, just a lot of sponging in small areas.  Just be sure the shimmer colors over the lightning are sponged very lightly, it is to add glow not color so be careful not to do too much.

Colors I used:

Black Base

Grey cloud: Nails Inc - Porchester Square

Dark Cloud: Sally Hansen - Slick Slate

Gold/Yellow: Sally Hansen - Quick Canary

Purple: Sally Hansen HD - Cyber

Light Purple: Sinful Colors - Purple Diamond

Light Yellow: Pure Ice - Best Friend

Dark Grey: Sinful Colors - Ardoise

Purple One stroke Flowers
I was in the mood for some bright nails, something summery and pretty.  So I did these one stroke flowers.   I love how they came out, the color is so bright!  These are hand painted using the one stoke paint brush method.  Then I added some white dots inside and out of the flowers.
Base: Summer Brights - Fuchsia
Flowers: purple and white acrylic paint  View Larger

Tiger Stripe
Quick easy tiger stripe nail design.
I used Claire’s Mood Polish in Bored/Excited.  It is a thermal polish that changes with temperature.  So at rest, my tips were darker than base giving it a nice gradient look.  (Unfortunately, this effect didn’t show in the picture).  Then just used a black striper for the tiger stripes.  This was quick and easy and looks so cute.  I am very happy with how it came out.   View Larger

Pink Flame
This is a pink flame design I did using the pin marble method.  I basically globbed a few shades of pink and white at the base and used a small pin to drag out the colors into flames. I like it.  I think it came out cool.  It is a bit more marbled then the picture shows.
Colors
Pink: Loreal - The Palace Life
Plum: Wet & Wild - Through the Grapevine

Metallic!

I love this polish! I want to go buy another bottle just to have in my collection because I see me using this a lot. This is OPI Push and Shove.  It is by far my favorite metallic yet.  Its like liquid foil. The only issue I have is it is not forgiving at all,   It shows every little file mark in my wraps.  So be sure your nails are perfectly smooth when you use it.

The black strips are done with OPI 4 in the morning.  Very nice black as well.  Very happy I got these :)
