Crocus

I always get excited when my crocuses come through the snow each year. To me, that means Spring is here! So, for my first Spring mani I decided to do crocuses and turned it into a tutorial.

These were very easy flowers to draw.  You just need some stripers or a small nail art brush.  I even did the tutorial on my left hand (I’m lefty) to show how easy.

Colors:

Base: Ruby Wing - Birdie (if I get a sunny day and can get a pic of the color change, I will add it)

Crocus: Sinful Colors - Candy Coated

Stripers:

dark green, light green, white, purple, and dark yellow

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Here’s my St. Pat’s nails for this year.   I don’t love them as a whole, they were rushed so are a bit sloppy, but I do like the polish I used.  My favorite is the gold polish.  It is Zoya Ziv and it is amazing!  I love the color, it went on great with one coat (although I always add another) It is such a pretty gold, I am loving it!
Colors:
Gold: Zoya Ziv
White: Zoya Purity
Dark Green (pinky): Zoya Chita (Pixie Dust Textured polish)
Green: Sinful Colors, Exotic Green
Gold Glitter top: Wet & Wild 18k Gold

Rose Nail Art Picture tutorial
Here is a quick, easy way to draw roses for your nail art.  You need 3-4 different shades of your rose color, green for the leaves and rose base, black or dark brown for vines.
Here I did pink roses.  The trick is to use the different shades to create the “petal” look.  The main color just paint on rose shapes but don’t be concerned if it is not perfect.  Then use the other shades to add shape and definition to your rose.    The green rose base will pull the rose together and make it look like it belongs on the stem. (Before that, it kind of looks like it is floating.)
Remember, Single roses or a rose at the base of a french is very classy, pretty and all occasion.  You don’t have to have them as busy as mine :)
base colors:
yellow: Sinful Unicorn
Revlon; Muse

Valentine Skittle
This is a quick valentine skittle.  I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do, I only knew I wanted to use these 2 colors.  So, this is what came out.  I used a bunch of stamps, did some dots, and did a few flame marble nails.  The lace stamp got messed up but I didn’t have time to redo it.
Colors:
Zoya - Blaze
Pure Ice - Jackpot

Snowflakes
Since it is snowing yet again today, I thought I would post my snowflake mani from this week.  This was a quick stamping.  I was tired of the usual blue & white snowflakes, so I chose a deep plum as the base with some chrome snowflakes stamped on.  And I love it!  I think the dark base is an excellent contrast to the shiny chrome.  It makes the flakes just pop.  Very happy with this look :)

Snowy Scene.
January is all about the snow.  My original idea was to do a hill with snow balls rolling down them ending on the thumb with a snowman.  Well, as you can see, that didn’t happen.  it looked almost like all the nails were plain except the thumb.  So I decided to draw some trees and little birds and it transformed into this.
I used a sand texture polish for the snow (and it really looks like snow.  The pic doesn’t show how pretty it is) The rest is painted with polish using a small brush. I also used a small eyeshadow sponge to sponge on some white snowy spots.  I think the end result is cute. I’m pretty happy with them.

Santa’s Reindeer

Here’s this week’s Christmas Nails.  I drew Santa’s Deer!   The first photo above was my inspiration for this design.  (although since I’m lefty, I did it flying the other way :) )  Santa, his 8 reindeer and Rudolph fit perfectly on 10 fingers.

They were all hand painted with polish. Mostly brushes and stripers.

Colors:

Base: Summer Brights - Blue sponged with Sinful Colors Snow Me White

Deer: China Glaze Mahogany Magic

Deer Tails and belly: OPI My Vampire is Buff

Sleigh: China Glaze Passion
